Katherine Propper is an Austin-based filmmaker. Her short films have screened at a variety of festivals around the world. BIRDS (New Orleans Film Festival ‘21, Clermont Ferrand ‘21). Born in Los Angeles and later studying Art History at Georgetown University, she has cultivated a love for visual storytelling. Since moving to Texas, she has experimented with her creative process, drawing from non-fiction filmmaking and experiences such as working as an editor for director Terrence Malick. She has an MFA in Film Production from the University of Texas at Austin. Her latest short film BIRDS won the narrative student pitch competition at the New Orleans Film Festival and received a grant by the Austin Film Society. She is currently developing a feature film.
